If you are looking for a specific article, the best place to look is IUP's PILOT Online Catalog. To open PILOT, just go to the IUP Library Home Page ( and select the "Online Catalog" option. This will connect you to PILOT. Once in PILOT, select the "Journal Title Search" option and enter the journal title (not the article title), in the "Search For" box and click "Search". If IUP owns or has access to the journal in physical or electronic form, there will be a result in the database. For physical items, there will be a record that has a "Library Has" note that shows the years and volumes we own and where they are located. For electronic content, there will be a record that has a "Linked Resources" note that shows the years of coverage and which database has those years. Just click on the linked resources note to go to that site. You may have to search for the article title or follow a series of menus to select the specific year, volume, and article to display. IUP does not own or have electronic access every article that you might find listed in the various databases. You may find references to articles that we just don't have. In those cases, you can request the articles through the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan system and we can get copies for you from another library. To use ILLIAD, just go to the Library Home Page, click on "Books and More" and then select the "ILIAD (Interlibrary Loan)" option. This will take you to the ILLIAD login page. To use ILLIAD, you must be a registered user. If you don't have an account, you can follow the "First Time Users" link. It will take you to a page that explains the system and that has a "First Time Users Click Here" button at the bottom. Click that button to get the registration page. Fill out the registration page (including setting up your user name and password) and submit it. You'll immediately be registered and taken to the ILLIAD Main page. On this page, you'll have the option to "Request a Photocopy" (used for articles or book chapters) or "Request a Book". Select and fill out the appropriate form and submit. Our ILL staff will find a library that has the material and request that it be sent here for you to use. You'll receive an e-mail when the material arrives and you can pick it up at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of Stapleton Library. The process takes about 3-6 working days. I
