The best way to get started looking for Native American music is to use the PILOT online catalog. Go to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library) and select the "Online Catalog" option. Once connected to PILOT, choose the "Subject Heading Search" option and enter the text "Indians of North America Music" in the "Search For" box. Click the "Search" button to execute the search. The system will respond with a list of subjects on Native American music. Just click on the subject heading to get a list of the books with that subject. The title list will show you the location and call number of the item. Most of the materials will be located in the Orendorff Music Library in Cogswell Hall. You will find entries for sound recordings, books and musical scores. If you have any difficulty locating material, the staff in the Music Library can give you additional assistance.
