Yes, you can can have a book recalled. You would need to submit the request at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of Stapleton Library. However, it is often faster to request the book through Interlibrary Library Loan. We find that the recall process usually takes well over a week. If you request through ILL, the process takes 3-6 working days -- a bit faster on average. The best way to request the book is through the PALCI EZ-Borrow system. Just go to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library),click on the "Books and More" section and select the "PALCI(Interlibrary Loan)" option. Once connected to PALCI, you log in with the 16-digit number that is at the bottom of your I-Card. After you've logged in, you can search for the book you need by author, title, subject or ISBN (International Standard Book Number). Once you find an entry for the book, just click on the blue "Request" button. The system will verify your name, where you want to pick up the book and your e-mail address. Then, click "Submit" to enter the request. PALCI will normally not allow you to request books already owned by IUP, but they do allow requests if the book is checked out. When the book arrives here at IUP, you'll receive an e-mail and you can pick it up at the Circulation Desk.
