Certainly we can scan and send those items to you. It's a regular service that we have set up for off-campus doctoral students. The way you request those items is through the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan system. Normally ILLIAD is just for students on campus requesting materials that are not available here. However, we do use the same process for our distance students. Just send an e-mail to Michele Corcoran (, our Interlibrary Loan supervisor, and she will annotate your account to show that you are working away from campus. Then, whatever items you request, either obtained from another library or available here on campus, will be sent to you (usually electronically). When you do request items available locally, it is very helpful if you could put that information in the "Notes" field of the request form. If you are not familiar with ILLIAD, you can find it by going to the Library Home Page (, clicking the "Books and More" section and selecting the "ILLIAD (Interlibrary Loan)" option. This will take you the ILLIAD login page. To make requests, you must be a registered user. If you don't have an account, just click on the "First Time Users" link. This will take you to a page that explains the system and that has a "First Time Users Click Here" button at the bottom. Click that button to get the registration page. On that, fill out the information requested and "Submit" it. You'll be immediately registered. Once you log in, the main ILLIAD page has two kinds of request forms. To request articles, use the "Request a Photocopy" option and then enter the details about the item you need. Once you submit the request, our staff will either fill it locally or find a library that has the material and request it for you. For most articles, we will send you an electronic copy of the material via e-mail. The process usually takes about 3-6 working days.
