We do have a system in place for our Dixon Center students to receive books from the main campus. It uses the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan system. Unfortunately, ILLIAD doesn't work directly with the Bookbag feature on PILOT, so you will need to transfer the information. To request materials, just log on to the ILLIAD system. You'll find ILLIAD by going to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library), clicking on "Books and More" and selecting the "ILLIAD (Interlibrary Loan)" option. This takes you to the ILLIAD login page. In order to make requests, you must be a registered user of ILLIAD. If you don't already have an ILLIAD account, just follow the "First Time Users" link. This takes you to a page that explains the system and that has a "First Time Users Click Here" button at the bottom. Click that button to get the registration page. Then, just enter your contact information. For our off-campus users, it's very important that you select the proper response for the "Site" option. Use the drop-down menu and select "Dixon Center". This is the way that the system knows where to send the materials. Once you've established your account, you'll be immediately registered and taken to the main ILLIAD screen. On the ILLIAD main page, you have the options to "Request a Photocopy" and "Request a Book". The first option is for articles or book chapters. The second option is for full books. Normally, you can can only request materials that IUP doesn't own through ILLIAD. However, the system does allow Dixon Center students to request materials from the main campus. If you are requesting IUP materials, it is helpful if you put the local call number in the "Notes" field on the request. This will help to expedite your request. Our staff will retrieve the materials you request and send them to you. If you have any questions about the details of the process, you should e-mail Michele Corcoran (email@example.com), our ILL supervisor.
