Unfortunately, the IT Services help desk closes at 6:00 p.m. Here in the library, we've only had minimal experience with setting up remote drives. I'll try to answer as best I can, but the real experts are IT Services. They will definitely get back to you tomorrow. In the meantime, there are a couple of things you need to check. First, in order for you to conect to the I: drive, you must have the VPN (Virtual Private Network) system set up and running on your computer. You also have to have connected to the IUP network (logged on with your user ID, password and domain) in order for the I drive to be functional. On many computers, there will be a small icon in the tray at the bottom of the screen to indicate that VPN is running. If there is an icon, open it to assure that there is a current connection. If you don't have VPN set up on your computer, the instructions can be found at : http://www.iup.edu/itsupportcenter/howto.aspx?id=45777 Once VPN is running, you must have mapped the drive on your home system. That procedure associates the location of the I: drive on the campus network with the I: drive on your computer. IT Services has a good handout on this at : http://www.iup.edu/itsupportcenter/howto.aspx?id=45991
