Your question seems to be more about philosophy and ethics rather than technology itself. Therefore, I would recommend that you take a look at the following databases: Philosopher's Index, Poesis Past Masters, and Religion & Philosophy Collection. You can find these databases by going to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library), and clicking on "Articlel Databases". Then select the database you need from the alphabetic list. You could try these search terms: Biotechnology, Bioethics, or Genetic Engineering. Of course, there are some general databases that might also be useful. I would suggest: Academic Search Complete, InfoTrac OneFile, and Wilson OmniFile. On these databases you could try searches like: biotechnology and (philosoph* or ethic*) The asterisk is the truncation character that tells the system to look for any word beginning with that character string (e.g. ethic, ethics, ethical, etc.). The parenthesis indicate a choice of words determined by the "OR" and the "AND tells the system to link the first word together with anthing listed in the parenthesis.
