Your question seems to be more about philosophy and ethics rather than technology itself. Therefore, I would recommend that you take a look at the following databases: Philosopher's Index, Poesis Past Masters, and Religion & Philosophy Collection. You can find these databases by going to the Library Home Page (, and clicking on "Articlel Databases". Then select the database you need from the alphabetic list. You could try these search terms: Biotechnology, Bioethics, or Genetic Engineering. Of course, there are some general databases that might also be useful. I would suggest: Academic Search Complete, InfoTrac OneFile, and Wilson OmniFile. On these databases you could try searches like: biotechnology and (philosoph* or ethic*) The asterisk is the truncation character that tells the system to look for any word beginning with that character string (e.g. ethic, ethics, ethical, etc.). The parenthesis indicate a choice of words determined by the "OR" and the "AND tells the system to link the first word together with anthing listed in the parenthesis.
