We have procedures as part of our Interlibrary Loan service to do exactly what you ask. All you need to do is to request the article through the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan system. In order to find ILLIAD, go to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library), click on "Books and More" and then on the " (ILLIAD) Interlibrary Loan" option. This will take you to the ILLIAD login in page. You must be a registered user to make requests. If you don't already have an account, just follow the "First Time Users" link. This will take you to a page that explains the system and that has a "First Time Users Click Here" button at the bottom. Click that button to get the registration page. On the registration page, fill out the information requested (including specifying your user ID and password) and then click the "Submit" icon. You'll be immediately registered and taken to the main ILLIAD page. On the main ILLIAD page, you have the option to "Request a Photocopy" (used for articles or book chapters) or "Request a Book". Just select the appropriate form and enter the information requested. Once you submit the request, our staff will obtain the material for you. Normally, we use ILLIAD only for getting materials that IUP does not own. However, we have adapted the system to use for our distance students. You can either put a note in the request that you are a distance user or send an e-mail to our ILL Supervisor, Michele Corcoran (corcoran@iup.edu) requesting that you be set up as a remote user. The staff will notate your account so that we will process both items not available at IUP and those that are. If you are placing a request for materials that IUP already owns, it will expedite the request if you give the call number and/or location in a note on the request. This will help the staff identify your material faster. If the item is not something IUP owns, we will then follow normal ILL procedures.
