You can find out what books are available from any of the IUP Libraries by using our PILOT online catalog. All of the materials at the main library and at the branches are included. To find PILOT, go to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library)and click on "Online Catalog". This will open PILOT. You can do this from any computer with Internet access. Once you are connected to PILOT, you have many options for searching. Since you are looking for either books by or about Trump, I would suggest that you use the the Author and Subjects Searches. Select either of the those search types, and then enter the name in the "Search For" box. For both types of searches you need to enter names as last name first. So, enter "Trump, Donald". Then just follow the links in the catalog to the full record for each item. The full record will give you the information about the book, tell you where it is located, and what the call number is. The call number is the information you need to find the book on the shelves. Since you are at the Northpointe campus, you are not required to come to the main campus to pick up the books (although you are more than welcome to visit us, if you wish). For books that are not already at Northpointe, you can request to have them delivered there. To request books through this service, you need need to use the ILLIAD Interlibrary Loan system. You can find it by going to the Library Home Page, clicking on "Articles and More" and then on "ILLIAD (Interlibrary Loan)". This will bring up the ILLIAD login page. In order to make requests through ILLIAD, you must be a registered user. If you don't already have an account, you can set one up very easily. Just click on the "First Time Users" link. This will bring up a page that explains the system and that has a "First Time Users Click Here" button at the bottom. Click that button to get the registration page and fill in your contact information. On that page, it will important for you to select the approriate response for the "Site" option. Since you are at the Northpointe campus, be sure you select "Armstrong Campus" as your site option. This will identify you as a Northpointe user and books can then be sent to you there. Once you've filled in all the information on the registration page, click "Submit" and you'll be immediately registered and taken to the main ILLIAD page. On the main page, you have two options for requests. Use "Request a Photocopy" if you need a periodical article or a specific book chapter. "Request a Book" is used for books. Select the appropriate form and then enter in the information about the item you need. ILLIAD is normally used to request things that IUP doesn't own. However, we have adapted the system to request things from main campus to be sent to the branches. If you are making a request for an item that is already at IUP, it is very helpful if you include the call number in the "Notes" area on the request form. This will help expedite the request. You can also request things that are not at any of the IUP Libraries. In that case, our staff will find a library that does have the material and arrange for it to be sent to Northpointe for you to use. The process for ILLIAD interlibrary loan takes about 3-6 working days. When material is available for you to pick up, you'll receive e-mail notification.
