In doing my search for information on Dr. Goddard, I found the Wikipedia article on him (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_K._Goddard)particularly helpful. It provided a nice overview of his life and accomplishments and had links to a wide variety of online resources that provided additional information. In looking through this information, I found references to a couple of books that may be helpful. They are Lester A. DeCoster's "Legacy of Penn's Woods" (1995) which is a history forestry activities in Pennsylvania and Dan Cupper's "Our Priceless Heritage : Pennslyvania's State Parks" (1993) which chronicles the history of the state park system. Unfortunately, neither of these books are in IUP's collection, but you should be able to get the via Interlibrary Loan either through PALCI or ILLIAD. Let me know if you need instruction on requesting materials through PALCI. You might also want to contact the Library at Penn State University. Dr. Goddard was on the faculty there and they may have information in their archives.
