The book you are looking for is actually a doctoral dissertation done in 1997 at Iowa State University. The full text of the dissertation is available in the Digital Dissertations database. To find Digital Dissertations, go to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library)and click on "Article Databases" for an alphabetic list of databases available through IUP. Then select "Digital Dissertations" from the alphabetic list. If you are accessing the database from off-campus, you might get the Keystone Library Network PASS page, asking you to log in. If you do get this page, use the block on the left and enter the 16-digit number at the bottom of your I-card (the one that starts 60083901....) as your library barcode and then enter your last name. That's the way that the database will know that you are a valid IUP user. Once connected to Digital Dissertations, you can search for the title of the dissertation. On the citation for the item, there will be an icon for the .pdf full text.
