We only have one copy of Briar Rose and, as you saw in the catalog, it is checked out. However, you can request to borrow another copy from another library through the PALCI Interlibrary Loan system. PALCI is normally used to request materials that IUP doesn't own, but the system does allow you to make a request if all of IUP's copies are unavailable. To find PALCI, go to the Library Home Page (, click on "Books and More" and then on "PALCI (Interlibrary Loan). This will open up the PALCI login page. To log in, use the 16-digit number at the bottom of your I-Card. It's the number that starts 60083901.... Once connected to PALCI, select the "Searching and Requesting" option. Then you can search PALCI by Author, Title, Subject or ISBN (International Standard Book Number). The ISBN is the fastest search in PALCI. The ISBN for Briar Rose is 0765342308. Once you identify the book in PALCI, you then click the blue "Request" button. PALCI will then verify your name, pickup location (where you want to receive your book) and your e-mail address. Once everything is correct, click the "Submit" button. PALCI will then automatically forward your request to a library that has the book available. That library will pull the book from the shelves and ship it to IUP. You'll receive an e-mail notification when the book arrives and then you can pick it up at the location you designated. If you designate the main library, the pickup location is at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor of Stapleton Library. The average time to get a book through PALCI is 3-6 working days.
