I-Cards and I-Card numbers are issued by the I-Card Office that is part of the Student Co-op. Here is the link to their web page: http://www.coop.iup.edu/Co-op_ICards.htm You should contact them to arrange to obtain your I-Card. Once you have the I-Card or the I-Card numbers, you should also contact our Circulation Department to make sure your information is added to the Library user database. We do get automatic updates from the I-Card office, but they don't occur on a daily basis. For fastest access, we can enter your information manually. You can contact Circulation at (724)357-2340. You will need the I-Card in order to check out books and it also serves as a vending card for photocopying and printing in the Library. However, if you need to access the online databases, there is another option. You can gain access to the databases from off-campus through the use of the VPN (Virtual Private Network) system. Instructions for setting up VPN on your personal computer can be found at : http://www.iup.edu/itsupportcenter/howto.aspx?id=45777 VPN lets you log in to the Campus Network from your own computer with your IUP Computer ID (the four letter code) and your password. Once you are logged in, the databases will recognize you as an IUP student and will allow you in. VPN also allows you to access your campus shared disk space from your own comuter.
