Although we don't encourage it, you can mail (or ship via UPS) books back to the library. Just send the books to:
Circulation Department -- Returned Library Books
102 Stapleton Library
Indiana University of PA
Indiana PA 15705
You don't need to mark the package to the attention of any particular person. When you mail book, we strongly recommend that you also insure the package for $100 per book. Insuring the package will provide tracking in case the package goes astray in the postal system and, if the books are indeed lost, it will cover the $100 "Lost Book Fee" that the library charges per lost book.
After you ship the books, you should check your library account to determine if the checkout has been removed from your account. To do this, go to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library) and click on the "Online Catalog" link. Then click on the "Acct Info" link. You can log in with either your library barcode (the 16-digit number at the bottom of your I-Card) or your Banner ID number (the @ number on your I-Card) and your last name to see the account.
