You can probably find information on that topic in some of our periodical citation databases. I would suggest looking in:
- Academic Search Premier
- InfoTrac Onefile
- Wilson OmniFile
- Newspaper Source
- Environment Complete (focus would be on the environmental aspects)
- CIAO - Columbia International Affairs Online
- PAIS International
You can find these databases by going to the Library Home Page (www.iup.edu/library) and clicking on "Article Databases". Then select the database you want from the alphabetic list.
I would also suggest that you enter the search like this:
whaling and japan*
This tells the system to look for anything that has both the term 'whaling' and some form of the term 'japan' (japan, japanese, etc.). The words don't have to be immediately next to each other or in any particular order, but they both have to be there.
